In the past I when I went full tilt I would just build on hit no matter what champion I played. This would cause the entire team to work together and win, just to spite me this happened 3 times. Low elo became Watcmen. This is pure insanity .

Realistically, you can just jump into ranked whenever. Don't be afraid of it. If you do want to be prepared, I'd base it around champion pool, personally. Get a basic understanding of the roles in the game, and get one or two you can play in a pinch for each. Just in case you're auto-filled.

So if you won your first game and got placed in Iron 2, it's the game saying "if you lose the next 9 games in a row you'll be Iron 2". That's why your rank isn't displayed
If you keep accepting matches after a 8 games losses it means that you spendt nearly half your day in league for no actual reason. Having you there make them money. It's frustration based addiction. It was proven that RIot intentionally makes it so players lose games to tilt them.
